California Manufactured Housing Institute

2007 CMHI Annual Convention Award Recipients

During the highlight of our Annual Membership Luncheon and Award's Ceremony, Mike Taylor, President of Sav-On Homes in Beaumont, was presented with the California Manufactured Housing Institute's Retailer of the Year Award.

No one leaves a longer lasting impression on our customers than a retailer.  All potential buyers form opinions and buying decisions based on their first encounter with a retailer.  Therefore, our Retailer of the Year must be someone we would want others to emulate.  Mike and all his associates at Sav-On Homes fulfill that requirement.

The Selection Committee, composed primarily of past recipients, makes their selection from a list of nominees submitted by CMHI members.  The nominees are evaluated based on customer satisfaction, standards of ethical and professional practice, attractive sales center, model display and sales volume.

Sav-On Homes was founded by Alfia Taylor over 30 years ago.  Since Alfia's retirement, Mike has continued Sav-On's tradition as a full service retailer dedicated to "Fulfilling the Promise" by delivering turnkey and hassle free homes to families throughout the Inland Empire.

As the sixth recipient of the Retailer of the Year Award, Sav-On Homes joins Macy Homes (2005), 5 Star Homes (2004), Cousin Gary Homes (2003), Ideal Homes (2002) and Dupar and Angel (2001) as retailers who set the standard for our industry.

President's Award

For his dedication to "Fulfilling the Promise" and ensuring customer satisfaction by delivering turnkey and hassle free homes, Mr. David Franzoni, President and CEO of Family Homes, was selected by CMHI President Jess Maxcy as the 2007 recipient of the President's Award.

In his award presentation, Mr. Maxcy cited David's long-term contributions to the manufactured housing industry and specifically his work with the City of Loma Linda on a first-time homebuyer project.

The Loma Linda in-fill project, featured in a November 2006 Community Development File, is a prime example of "Fulfilling the Promise."  The synergy provided by the City of Loma Linda, Cavco Industries, Wood Doctor Construction and Family Homes made it possible for David to deliver architecturally compatible and appropriately landscaped homes that are an enhancement to the neighborhood.  As a matter of fact, the neighborhood now wants more turnkey and hassle free manufactured homes.

Congratulations and thank you to all the associates at Family Homes for "Fulfilling the Promise"!

Chairman's Award

Kim Lear, the very surprised recipient, received the 2006 Chairman's Award from CMHI Chairman Russ Williamson during our Annual Award's Luncheon.

Kim has been a loyal and productive CMHI team member since 1984.  Her many contributions to CMHI and our industry are deeply appreciated.

In making his selection for the Chairman's Award, Mr. Williamson said he was most impressed with Kim's perseverance, loyalty and willingness to take on difficult challenges.

The CMHI staff is especially proud of Kim and thankful for the recognition she has received with the 2006 Chairman's Award.

Way to go Kim!
