Where can I Buy My Manufactured Home?

All new manufactured homes must be sold by a licensed retailer or, when sold as real estate in a subdivision, by a licensed general contractor. The California Manufactured Housing Institute(CMHI), the industry’s professional trade association since 1937, has nearly 100 members who specialize in the sale and resale of manufactured housing. Some sell homes from a model center which they own and operate. Others sell homes from models located in gated communities or subdivisions.
