Do I need a permit to make repairs or alterations to my mobile/manufactured home?

Generally speaking, most repairs or an alteration to a mobilehome or manufactured home requires a permit issued by the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) Division of Codes and Standards. HCD provides guidelines which identify when a permit is or is not required; plans are required; electrical load calculations are required; and, when plans must be submitted to a California licensed engineer or architect.
