JOE TOBEY AND ERIC DAY HONORED AT 2003 CMHI ANNUAL MEETING Unanimously, Joe Tobey, President of U.S. Financial Network, Inc. was selected as the 2003 President’s Award recipient. Joe began his business career in 1966 operating Tobey Employment Agency. There he recruited for clerical, financial and technical industries. In 1975 he was employed as Finance Manager for a mobile home dealership. In 1980 he joined Ballas Development as General Manager responsible for overseeing and developing finance programs. He also set up marketing programs and direct advertising and administration. In 1989, he formed U.S. Financial Network, Inc. Since that time his company has placed over $500 million in manufactured housing loans. He has established a dealer base of over 400 throughout California. Joe’s company is dedicated to the ongoing pursuit of additional financing sources for the industry. He believes in helping all Californians achieve the dream of home ownership. Specifically, Joe has been extremely helpful to our industry. He has volunteered presentations at many chapter meetings and has helped in presenting financing seminars to our industry members. Joe has been a helpful source in any financing issue whenever he is asked. Mr. Tobey has been elected to serve as a member of the CMHI Board of Directors in the newly expanded Financial Services Division. Celebrating life, Joe enjoys boating, travel and fishing. He lives with his wife, Jana, in Dana Point, California. He has four children and five grandchildren. We congratulate Joe on receiving this award and indeed are fortunate to have Joe Tobey as a member of our Institute. Eric Day, Senior Vice President of Zieman Manufactured Housing, was awarded the Chairman’s Award for 2002 by Barry Cole, Chairman of CMHI. Eric has been in the industry for 33 years with Zieman, serving in sales, sales management and as a division manager before assuming his current position. Eric has served on the Board of Directors of CMHI since 1995 including two years as its Chairman from 1999-2000. Eric also has served on various CMHI committees. Eric will serve as Treasurer of CMHI for the 2003-2004 year and is a director of the CMHI Foundation. Eric is also active in the Modular Building Institute, the Lions Club, the YMCA of Whittier and serves on the Board of Directors of the Whittier Area Federal Credit Union. Eric lives in Tustin with his wife Carol. They have two grown children. CMHI congratulates Eric on receiving this award and we express our gratitude for his service to our industry.
